PBS Volunteer News- 9 - 2015

Paul Kidney once told me that the reason he came to PBS was because he heard Adrian Ockerby playing WAY OUT music in the middle of the day during the working week. The music was weird, and unpalatable (for some). You definitely wouldn't hear that on any other radio.  Paul's immediate reaction was "WOW! I want to go to THAT place!" A respected guy from Sydney's freak-grunge scene, in such seminal acts as Southern Fried Kidneys, Kiss My Poodles Donkey and Monroe’s Fur, Paul turned his attention to radio.  Since then, Paul Kidney has developed a world class radio program presenting improvised music, free jazz, psychedelia, noise and heaps of other undefinable sounds on his radio show EAR OF THE BEHEARER. Now let's face it, his slot is not the easiest of gigs, because it's an overnight show. But Paul kept at it, and by golly he's still doing it. Paul Kidney:  Admired, respected and loved by many! Paul's having a party to celebrate his 10 years on air, and he's evening playing in his own band: The Paul Kidney Experience. Did you know you can come too? Click here for the details! Thank you Paul Kidney, you're one of many great volunteers that makes a wonderful contribution to PBS. Would you like to volunteer at PBS? There's some vacant roles below!

Fine Print Policies and Procedures
It is important for all volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. See the policies and procedures here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully. And if you’re inspired, why not consider becoming a PBS shareholder?
