Each year since then we’ve been growing thanks to the generosity of our community of listeners, volunteers, members, donors, sponsors, and musicians. Mick Geyer Award
The Mick Geyer Award is given in recognition of an individual’s outstanding service to PBS and, through that, to the broader music community.  Mick Geyer was a PBS broadcaster and Editor of the station magazine Waves. His work embodied the spirit of a progressive broadcast. 

Maddy Mac with Mojo Juju and friends ðŸ“· Owen McKern

In 2018 Maddy McFarlane was the recipient of the Mick Geyer Award. You may know Maddy as former host of The Breakfast Spread, current host of Homebrew, an educator (The Collaborative Radio Project, PBS announcer course), an advocate for announcers and new voices, an agent of change and, like Mick, her body of work reflects that spirit of progressive broadcast on air and behind the scenes. Congratulations Maddy MacFarlane for putting the P in PBS in more ways than one.

Milestones + Achievements
Cross Pollinate celebrated 100 episodes 👂   
Homebrew celebrated its 10th birthday (Monday days) but has been running since 2006 (Sunday 2am-6am slot), and its three hosts: Maddy Mac, Jenny O’Keefe and Patty Furze reunited for the anniversary show 👂   
Mohair Slim’s Blue Juice and Gary Carson & Peter Fundeis’s Screaming Symphony 👂broadcast their 1000th show
Irvine Jump clocked a silver jubilee with 25 huge years on the air in the 2am-6am slot on Saturday mornings. Richard McLeish caught up with Tony who reflected on his time at PBS.👂
Crispi Winsor celebrated 10 years on PBS through his show Radio City and The Breakfast Spread and had a party at the Curtin - Radio City Tonight! which featured La Bastard, Saint Jude and Charles Jenkins.

For Melbourne Music Week's Live Music Safari, Fang It! had a special live broadcast from The Last Chance Rock'n'Roll Bar in North Melbourne, starring Warped, and Hideous Sun Demon, Horace Bones and Lazertits. Thanks to volunteers Gavin Plummer, Richard McLeish and Zak Brown who helped out.

Rock A Bye Baby
In 2018, there were 4 Rock A Bye Baby events held at the Fitzroy Town Hall with Kutcha Edwards, Thando, Go Go Sapien and The Merindas. PBS puts on a party for children and their carers and a team of volunteers help lug gear and prams, set up, pack down, load the van, cover the door, assist with access and take photos. Changes
'Changes' was the music industry summit that rose from the ashes of 'Face The Music'. A party for Changes was held at PBS, and featured High Tension, live from Studio 5. International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day 2018, Camp Cope, Hospital Pass, Adalita and Lazertits played live on air as we hosted another party. Maintenance Volunteers                                                                                               
One day our bathroom tap snapped off. No-one knew why, or who did it, but Norm Hudson rushed to PBS to help out and before we knew it, it was fixed. We could tell similar stories about Chris Pearson and Denis Kane who, on countless occasions, rushed to PBS to help out in 2018, and thanks to Matt McFettridge for sorting out the smoke detectors. Thanks to Jeff Henry for welcoming our guests on Wednesdays, making coffees and teas and keeping the place tidy.

Management, Legal and Accounts
Thank you once again to the Board for their tireless volunteer work leading the organisation. Thank you Adrian Meade, Jayne Lovelock, Jurgen Schaub, Justin Naylor, Lauren O'Dwyer, Monica Hanns and Tess Lawley. Cheers to Anne Kilpatrick, volunteer in Accounts and David Barnes who once again helped out with the AGM administration.
