The PBS Volunteers News returns this fortnight. Thanks to everyone who’s helped out over the last 2 weeks, making things happen here. No matter how large or small, your contribution helps PBS tick. And thanks to all those who helped out at Cup Day Kaos the Outside Broadcast event on Melbourne Cup Day.

 So if you want to help out at PBS, read down, because there’s loads of opportunities at PBS this fortnight and beyond.

Muscles and a good back*still available*
These are required to help lift, shift and tidy the PBS storeroom up.  It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it. I would but I'm too weak. Is that somebody you? If the answer is yes, email hr[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to apply and secure a date and time.

Library Cataloguing – A Saturday working bee!*still vacancies available*
To all those who’ve expressed an interest in volunteering at PBS on the weekend, this is the opportunity for you! We’ve got a massive collection and we’d love your help to catalogue. You will be trained but good data entry skills and a basic understanding of computer systems will make this role very easy. Can you spare the time? Would you like to help? Say yes, by emailing hr[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to secure a spot.

What:  Library Cataloguing
Date:  Saturday December 3
Time:  2 shifts: 10:30-1:30pm and 1:30-5pm
Location:  47 Easey Street Collingwood

Inside the Music Department -Library Cataloguing  *still vacancies available*
As you've probably gathered, the library cataloging job  is a massive but you know what they say 'many hands make light work'. If you're free to come into PBS Monday - Friday 10am-6pm, we've got opportunties. Driver & Freight assistance*Morning shift taken!*
We’ve got 30 crates of CDs culled from the library. Sadly they have to be sold. Happily, there’s hope they’ll go to someone who’ll really love them. We’ll need help lifting them into a van or large vehicle and transporting them to Yah Yahs [and we’ll need people to help sell them for a gold coin donation]. We’d love your help. Selling CDs at a record fair *spots filling fast*
As you may already know we’ve got 30 crates of CDs culled from the library. Sadly they have to be sold. Happily, there’s hope they’ll go to someone who’ll really love them. We need people who can help sell them at Crate Diggers record fair. We’ll need help lifting and moving them. We’ll need people to help sell them for a gold coin donation. Enjoy mixing it with toddlers in the mosh pit?  Like to help nurture the next generation of music lovers and PBS listeners and members?  Interested in helping the RABB team provide a fun musical experience to mums, dads, carers and kids alike in the beautiful surrounds of the Fitzroy Town Hall?  Helping at the RABB gigs mostly involves assisting parents, talking to people about PBS, pusher traffic management, sitting on the door and sticking up a few posters at the venue to advertise the event. It’s a fun event that brings great joy to the kids and parents.  If you’d like to be involved email hr[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au

PBS Volunteer Receptionist Fills
The PBS reception role is great for a people person. If you like helping out and directing people at PBS, and can attend consistently then maybe this is the role for you.
Tuesdays 10am-2pm *regular reception role*

Breakfast Spread Co-host/Producer
PBS 106.7FM is looking for a suitably experienced Breakfast Announcer/Producer to contrast and balance the current co-host and provide broad appeal to our listeners.

For more than 30 years, music broadcaster PBS has played an important role in developing Melbourne’s vibrant music and arts community. Whether it’s jazz, blues, rock or soul – PBS is committed to playing ‘little-heard’ music in all of its forms.

The applicant should have suitable experience in broadcasting, diverse music knowledge, interview skills, a positive ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and not be afraid of early starts.

Applications must include a demo on CD or USB, along with a CV.

The role will require 5 hours commitment each morning, from 6am to 11am, Monday to Friday.
