INSIDE THE PBS PRODUCTION TEAM & PRODUCTION FAQs
Chris Fatouros has been the PBS Production Manager since September 2010. As the Manager, he oversees and handles sponsorship carts, program intros and cross promos, live to airs, OB's, studio maintenance and live events. He doesn't do it alone though. He's got an awesome sidekick - that's Emma. Then there's Yuri, Paul, Adam, Barbarella and Eugene that help out too.  Yes the PBS production team look after a large workload, and have little time resources to keep up with the demand of people seeking to volunteer in PBS production. Chris answered some production FAQ's:

What volunteer roles do the PBS Production Department offer?
Helping out at carts and OB's
Producing carts

What qualifications do I need to have to volunteer in the Production Department?
Familiarity with a range of audio software may be an advantage, but your ability to get along with the other people in the team earns a big tick. Also, it's great to work with people who are willing to learn, who can commit to their volunteer job, and are reliable.

What is the process of volunteering in the PBS production department?
1)    Contact hr@pbsfm.org.au
2)    Fill out a volunteer application form including when you’re available.
3)    Your details are referred onto the production department
4)    The production department will contact you when there is a vacancy available.

How can I increase my chances of getting a go?
Honest applications are well regarded. Your visibility at the station may also raise your chances...
If there's no opportunities in the meantime, what do I do?
If you're really keen about being involved at PBS, you have the time, and the dedication, volunteer for another role at the station. There's no guarantee that will be a direct pathway to volunteering in the production department, but it's a good way to get a greater understanding about the station, and you'll probably also get to meet the production people.

That's the PBS volunteer news for the fortnight. Thanks for reading it.

In the wise words of Letta Mbulu
