PBS Volunteer News Edition 3 2012

This week’s volunteer news comes short and sweet.
Just like this cupcake

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out over the past fortnight. You know who you are, but YOU deserve acknowledgement for making stuff happen at PBS.  And you get a big fat thanks.......it's coming soon! Right now, read down for more volunteer opportunities at PBS, the specialist music station that plays under-represented music.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Library Cataloguing – Weekdays Monday to Friday between 10am-6pm * loads of opportunities now*
PBS has an expansive CD collection which is currently being catalogued. We’ve had heaps of help to get to where we are, but we are still in need of more assistance. To get the most out of it, you need basic computer skills and be available 4 hours per week during PBS office hours. The role is a data entry one, so attention to detail is important. If you’re interested in helping out, email mara[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to secure your 4 hour shift

Work side by side with the PBS music and interviews coordinator Chelsea Wilson to help our announcers organise interviews and get their hands on the latest music. This is an admin role and we need people who pay attention to detail, have admin experience and are reliable. Are you looking to build up your resume with this kind of music industry activity? Then this is the role for you. Email mara[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to secure a role

Did you know reception at PBS is an important role? After all, it’s the face of PBS. If you’re a people person, have good administrative skills, are reliable and like to help, this role is for you. We’re looking for people who are willing to commit at least 6 months, and there’s training on March 21st 10am-2pm.  Email mara[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to secure this role

PBS FINE PRINT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

It is important for all announcers, volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. It is available online (to save the trees) from here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS staff, Announcers and volunteers to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read this carefully.
