Once Radio Festival ends [June 30], we’ll be throwing a wrap up party, so if you’ve volunteered at PBS in the last year – we expect you to come. Invite will be coming in the mail soon.

So at PBS, it’s back to business as usual: lots of music, lots people and we’ve still got loads of opportunities to get involved, so don’t delay! Volunteer at PBS!

OPPORTUNTIES

Community Cup! ** URGENT
Our mates at Reclink are organising the mammoth effort that is Community Cup. Never heard of Community Cup? It's when RRR and PBS join forces to play the Melbourne’s [actual] Rockdogs! It's a great day with awesome vibes - even if you don't like footy.

Anyway, Reclink need volunteers to help out.
Here are the special roles they're seeking PBS volunteers to help with:
·         Need 6-8 people for a 10 – 2pm shift to help set up
·         Need 12 people at the end of the day from 5 – 7pm to help pack-down

Go on! It’s for a good cause, you’ll meet people and you’re helping out!

Email mara@pbsfm.org.au if you’d like to be involved

Or if you’d like to be a general volunteer just go to www.reclink.org.au

PBS ANNOUNCER COURSE

PBS announcer course July 2 - Taught by Bop Gun's Campbell McNolty
Want to do a radio short course? Maybe this is the one for you.
The next PBS course starts on Monday July 2 at 6:30pm at 47 EASEY STREET, COLLINGWOOD, and runs for 5 consecutive Monday nights excluding [9/4].

We run small classes[8], it’s a great opportunity to see what it’s like behind the scenes, have the chance to have a go yourself, and make a demo. It's taught by experienced community radio community announcers. Not to mention, it’s fun, and you get to meet like minded individuals.

Prices are as follows:

Course Cost
PBS member fee:               Full    $270           Concession    $180
PBS non member fee:         Full    $300           Concession    $200

If you want to do this, email mara[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au to enrol.

PBS FINE PRINT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
It is important for all announcers, volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. It is available online (to save the trees) from here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS staff, Announcers and volunteers to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read this carefully.
