PBS OPEN DAY 2012

Open Day once more at PBS
For the first time ever, the sun shone at our Open Day Saturday Oct 20! We had a lot of visitors and a number of new membership sign ups, and people walking away with a clearer idea about PBS.

The success of Open Day is truly a team effort. Thanks to Mary Ann P, Jurgen S, Susan S, Tessel J, Andy M, Vince P, Wendy T, Kate R, Garry L, Ken L, Ruby P, Sam M, Monica H, Raj P, Sarah B, Michael M, Chelsea W, Wagner S, Michelle B, Paul M , Adrian B, Ruby K, Adam R, Chris P, Di C, Helen J, Pat S, Richard B, Wayne S and Jeff H.

Thanks for making the coffees, teas, sausages, telling stories, selling the memberships and merch, greeting people, studio demonstrations, picking up the supplies, doing the artwork, recording voices & images, painting faces, inflating balloons, cleaning and tidying, handling odd jobs, informing the public and most importantly: making outsiders feel like insiders.

As you can imagine, we really couldn’t have done it without you! It was great to see everyone and meet some new faces.  Thanks to everyone for helping make Open Day a success!

BECOME A SHAREHOLDER * VOTE AT THE AGM
If you want to get more involved with the station, then why not consider becoming a shareholder of Progressive Broadcasting Service Co-operative Limited (license holder of PBS 106.7FM). Shareholding costs $50 and is kept ‘activate’ by having a current (financial) membership. Active Shareholding allows you to vote at the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Thursday 22 November (at the Collingwood Senior Citizens Centre November @ 7pm) – you may also choose to stand for the Board.  Please contact adrianbasso@pbsfm.org.au to receive an application form or if you have any questions.

Fine Print Policies and Procedures
It is important for all volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. See the policies and procedures here andhttp://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully. And if you’re inspired, why not consider becoming a PBS shareholder?
