Community Cup Special post

 

 

Community Cup is a great day. If you're a local you know that already....

But in case you're new to Melbourne, or just weren't aware, it's the day when the voices of community radio play the Melbourne rock scene on an oval in Elsternwick. Sure it's a game of very sloppy footy, but Community Cup is more than that.... 

It's the best of old school footy, where you can run on the oval & have a kick half time, kids, dogs, balls flying everywhere. Yes it's all of that- then add this to the equation: Everyone at the match listens to radio that you like. These people are your people. This is the closest thing to seeing just who is the community of listeners of community radio....

It's also a day when you can get together with your mates, have a drink and watch some bands.

Parents know Justine Clarke, but just in case you don't the former Home and Away star plays her special brand of retro pop inspired tunes for the kids.
