PBS Volunteer News 17- 2013

In this volunteer news, Tony Irvine's got something to shout about!

Last weekend the sky was drab, the weather was so-so, but Open Day at PBS was fun! Saul and Emma Peel  represented us on air, and behind the scenes we were represented by a wonderful team of volunteers.  Saturday night was the night of the Tonys: we celebrated Tony Irvine's 20 year on air anniversary and farewelled Tony Black whose program The Beat Delivery came to an end after its 3 year run. This week we farewell another fantastic volunteer announcer Kim Walvisch who is retiring her program City Slang this Wednesday.  And let's also say a special thanks to Sasha B who's also finishing up this month - concluding over 2 years of volunteering assistance - starting in membership area, moving to the music department,  as an assistant to Chelsea & one of the best library catalogers, as well as the key players in spearheading Studio 5 project, and Sasha also helped out at events. Such an amazing commitment!
Needless to say we'll miss you badly TonySasha and Kim, but we thank you for your amazing volunteering efforts at PBS!

Rock A Bye Baby December 5

Helping at the PBS RABB gigs mostly involves assisting parents, taking photos, talking to people about PBS, pusher traffic management, working the door and sticking up a few posters at the venue to advertise the event. It’s a fun event to be involved in, and there’s an excellent live soundtrack, in December our final one for 2013, Nicky Bomba's Bustamento star!   If you’d like to be involved email hr[at]pbsfm[dot]org[dot]au
