PBS Volunteer News 10 - 2014

On Saturday the 25^th of October volunteers and visitors converged and PBS was a happy place especially because it was OPEN DAY. David Bull took some photos and thanks to everyone who helped out and made Open Day a nice day!

Volunteer: Errand Assistance * SORTED!

Our vacuum cleaner broke and we can get it fixed under warranty. The only problem is - we need to get it to Glen Huntly. This is quite the task on public transport, but maybe you can help? Do you have some spare time? Are you able to pick up the broken part from PBS in Collingwood and take it to Glen Huntly before Thursday 4pm so they may fix it on the spot?  Can you bring it back? Rock A Bye Baby is a gig starring Mighty Duke and The Lords, during the day for kids and parents, and we’re looking for Good Samaritans to help our patrons access the building. If you’re working the door, you’ll be taking the entry fees, stamping the hands. Good communication skills as well as excellent counting skills, a friendly manner and the ability to stay cool under pressure.  If you’re assisting with access you’ll be helping patrons access and exit the building in a safe manner. If you love helping out, then chances are you’ll like this.  For those studying event management, this is a great one to do to increase your on the ground experience. Apply to mara@pbsfm.org.au

Become a Shareholder of PBS

If you want to get more involved with the station, then why not consider becoming a shareholder of Progressive Broadcasting Service Co-operative Limited? PBS is the owner and operator of the broadcast license 106.7FM and Digital Radio. Shareholding costs $50 and is kept ‘activate’ by having a current (financial) membership. Active Shareholding allows you to vote at the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on the 26th of November at the station (new location from previous years).
