PBS Volunteer News - 10 - 2016

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who've made a terrific contribution at PBS over the last month. At risk of sounding like a broken record, you're all amazing and the collective efforts of the group make PBS what it is. In October we've run a fundraiser, we ran events such as Heavy and Hammered, the Record Fair, Open Day, on top of Jamaica Jump Up and Soul A Go Go and we really couldn't have achieved that without volunteer efforts. Well done to the team.

I want to take a moment to say THANKS to a volunteer named Ken Eavel who presented a program named Go For Broke over the past 6.6 years at PBS. A champion of local and international rock and roll, loved by many for his raw, real and relatable style and killer choices his program wound up last week. For those missing Ken Eavel, you can find archived programs & contact details here. He's having a big bash called PISSD'n'BROKE: A Celebration of Ken Eavel's Go For Broke, featuring a stunning line up including The Exotics, The Shabbab,Shrimpwitch and more. See the poster below and make it down
Last Chance Rock'n'Roll Bar November 26 to celebrate the work of Ken Eavel! Hope to catch you there.

Community radio is about access and participation for voices in the community, and a change in programming means that new voices can be heard. That's what's happening with Cross Pollinate and other changes found here. The brand new grid starts tomorrow and you can check it http://pbsfm.org.au/guide

PBS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
It is important for all volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. See the P & P here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully. And if you’re inspired, why not consider becoming a PBS shareholder?
