Big up to our amazing PBS volunteers on Reception, in the Musc Library, Social Media assistants, who sold merch at Heavy & Hammered, for rounding up prams, assisting production and covering the door for Rock-A-Bye-Baby, to the membership mail out helpers, and for the spectacular Soul-A-Go-Go 10th birthday banner and photos. Thanks to Poppy Calhoun for creating the 2017 Open Day artwork above. Huge thanks to all the volunteers on board for Open Day. Reception Morning on Wednesdays in Nov -taken
Start the day with Roots of Rhythm, Malt Shop Hop, and Jumpin' The Blues when you volunteer on the PBS reception desk for this short-term period. You'll you get to meet people from all walks of life, develop working relationships with PBS announcers and staff. Use and improve your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be the face of PBS for the shift duration. A good phone manner and confidence using a computer, Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet is highly regarded. We have a receptionist vacancy Wednesday 10am-2pm in November. Rock-A-Bye Baby – Event Volunteers 7 Dec
Burnt Sausages rock the next Rock-A-Bye Baby, the daytime gig for children and carers at the Fitzroy Town Hall in December. We’re looking for trustworthy volunteers, who like people, and like helping PBS. Door volunteers help out on the door, access volunteers help patrons access the venue. The PBS announcer course is the first step you need to take if you want to be a PBS announcer. Take the class that will put you on your path! Classes are held at PBS Studios, 47 Easey St, Collingwood, over 5 weeks from 6:30pm-8:30 pm. Here are the dates for 2018:

PBS Policies and Procedures
It is important for all volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. See the P&P here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully.
