PBS Volunteer Vacancies February, March and Beyond

Thanks to all those who’ve responded to the last volunteer news. We’ve had some ace new volunteers join our ranks, and we’ve got more opportunities for more people to get involved. If you’ve been meaning to step inside PBS in 2018, make it down during DRIVE LIVE – our live music week where PBS listeners come in, catch some live bands, and get amongst it. I’ll just leave this here....

As for volunteering roles at PBS, we’ve got them, and we’d love you to help out. Just read on down, and if there’s something you’d like to help with, you know what to do!

Rock A Bye Baby WITH KUTCHA EDWARDS
Kutcha is one of Australia’s most respected and inspiring singer/songwriters.  Fusing soulful music and a rich, powerful voice with his personal story, Kutcha’s songs reflect on life as an Aboriginal man in white Australia. His deep and rhythmic tones are that of a storyteller whose inspiring songs are full of passion and spirit that evokes a connection to an intimate and resilient songline. And it’s Kutcha who stars at the next Rock A Bye Baby, the daytime gig for children and carers at the Fitzroy Town Hall in February. We’re looking for trustworthy volunteers, who like helping people! Seeking access volunteers to help patrons access the venue. Note: This is a physical role – helping parents and children by lifting/carryng pushers up and down stairs. Email mara@pbsfm.org.au to volunteer.

We’ll be rolling out a similar event for IWD – that’s Thursday 8th of March 2018.  Do you know what IWD means?  Do you already have it set out in your diary? Would you like to volunteer? Breakfast Radio Hosts
PBS is looking for two highly-skilled, experienced and strongly motivated broadcasters to take on the roles of Breakfast Spread co-hosts starting in 2018. The Breakfast Spread goes to air Mon-Fri 6-9am throughout the year. The program represents and reflects the diversity of music programming heard right across PBS’s weekly programming grid. The role of Breakfast Spread co-host is a uniquely rewarding and challenging position. Both of the successful applicants will be expected to share a range of broadcast, producing and programming duties, supported by PBS staff and volunteers. If this sounds like you, download the position description below. Applications must be received by 5pm Friday 19th of January. More info can be found here: http://www.pbsfm.org.au/node/72397

PBS Policies and Procedures
It is important for all volunteers and staff to be familiar with this. See the P&P here and http://pbs.org.au/policy. The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully. And if you’re inspired, why not consider becoming a PBS shareholder? The AGM is held in November.

PBS acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we are located
and we pay our respects to them, their culture, and their Elders past and present
