Wow! And that was another Radio Festival done and dusted…well almost. It actually finishes June 30, and we have a long list of fantastic people who helped out raising funds, answering the calls, packing memberships, making the decorations, donating the food and prizes and just generally helping each other out at PBS.  Thank you to all the volunteers for your great work!  It's inspiring to see so many come together each year, to make sure that PBS runs for another year.  So the news at PBS is that we have and there's plenty of volunteer opportunities coming up. Social Media Volunteers WEEKLY ROLE! Pick your day!  

PBS is seeking social media volunteers to work within a team to create content and schedule for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, You Tube and other social media sites. Reporting to the marketing and events coordinator, we’re looking for a creative person with strong writing skills, an ability to flex writing style to different tones, an eye for picking a picture, as well as a deep understanding and passion for music and PBS. We have vacancies Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday’s. Looking for a volunteer who could commit for a 4 hour shift on 1 day a week for at least 3 months in the role.  Email mara@pbsfm.org.au to obtain the PD.

Music Summit Volunteers

A music summit is coming to town and we’re looking for volunteers who can assist with an event at PBS.  We are seeking volunteers to assist runners 4.30pm-7.30pm on Wednesday 4^th or Thursday 5^th of July. Runners assist the bar by providing support to the bar - rotating stock, refilling water jugs, emptying bins, washing glasses as required, and bussing. To register your interest to volunteer at this music industry event or for more info email mara@pbsfm.org.au.

Rock A Bye Baby 

Rock A Bye Baby is the daytime gig for children and carers at the Fitzroy Town Hall in April. We’re looking for trustworthy volunteers, who like helping people! Seeking access volunteers to help patrons access the venue.  This is a physical role – helping parents and children by lifting/carrying pushers up and down stairs. This month, psych-popsters Go Go Sapien will grace the stage with their penchant for unorthodox theatrics and influences ranging from post-punk, psych-rock, surf music and sci-fi film scores. Email mara@pbsfm.org.au to volunteer.

Community Cup Bar Volunteers LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AWAY

The winter bright spot on the horizon we're looking forward to is the Reclink Community Cup! Once again the mighty Megahertz will battle those pesky Rockdogs for the title, nay the privilege, to call themselves champions! Bookmarking the football will be a legendary line-up of performers including Kutcha Edwards, The Aints,  Cable Ties, Hiatus Kaiyote, and The Cartridge Family.  Do you have an RSA? Do you want to help on the day Community Cup 2018? Reclink are recruiting directly and there are still volunteer spaces left. Just complete this sign up form and you’ll hear from them. PBS will hold its Open Day in October and we’re looking for a volunteer artist who would like design a poster to be printed in A3, used on the PBS website, Facebook and Instagram. The next Rock A Bye Baby on Tuesday, July 17 happens during City of Yarra's Leaps and Bounds music festival. ANNOUNCER COURSE 2018

The PBS announcer course is the first step you need to take if you want to be a PBS announcer. Take the class that will put you on your path!  Classes are held at PBS Studios, 47 Easey St, Collingwood, over 5 weeks from 6:30pm-8:30 pm. Here are the remaining dates for 2018:

WEDNESDAYS IN SEPTEMBER 5, 12, 19, 26 & OCTOBER 3
MONDAYS IN OCTOBER 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
WEDNESDAYS IN NOVEMBER 5, 12, 19, 26 & DECEMBER 3

The Policies and Procedures Handbook ensures that PBS remains in safe compliance with the Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. It also positions PBS volunteers, announcers and staff to operate with a shared, clear understanding of how things work at PBS. Please read it carefully. And if you’re inspired, why not consider becoming a PBS shareholder? The AGM is held in November.
