A message from a rockin' PBS volunteer seeking volunteers for Aardvark

Hello PBS FM Volunteers,

My name is Mark 'Hepcat' Heylbut, and I am a DJ here at PBS FM 106.7. You may have heard me filling in on some of your favorite Roots shows like 'It's a Gas', 'Southern Style', 'The Gospel Show', 'Malt Shop Hop', and many others. As a PBS FM Volunteer you realize the benefits of volunteering in your community, and of course, you have great taste and a love of music!!

The reason I am writing to you today as I also volunteer with an organisation called 'Aardvark' (www.myspace.com/aardvark). Aardvark is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit organisation that brings together the music industry, music therapists and young musicians who have faced long-term or serious illness. Together they write, record and perform original music, enabling the young participants to help work through their challenges, express themselves creatively, develop their musical skills, and inspire the wider community with their achievements. Our motto is "Musicians helping young people with long-term illness unleash their song..."

As you are one of our gorgeous and valued Peebs Volunteers, coupled with your passion for great music, we thought that this may be an event that you may enjoy assisting us with! We are asking for Volunteers to help us with our Aardvark CD Launch 2011, which will be held friday 21st of October at Allans Music, Bourke Street Melbourne.The event will run from 7:30pm until 10pm and it is envisiged that volunteers will be needed from 5pm (or definitely by 6:30pm) until 10:30pm. There are many great spots to fill, including food servers, bar staff (people with a current RSA ticket would be greatly appreciated), merchandise sales, and general duties. We will try not to work you too hard, it will be a great night of music and fun, and you will get that warm inner glow knowing that you have helped put a smile on the face of a seriously ill child, and made their musical dreams reality. The nights performance will conclude with our special guest star, and Aardvark supporter, Monique Brumby.
