PBS Volunteer News 26th October 2011

The PBS Open Day was held on Saturday the 22nd, where we had a BBQ and CD sale by donation. Despite the rain, people still showed up. Thanks to the 28 volunteers -that's Luciano, Mike, Anna, Jurgen, Courtney, Sam, Tijana, Karen, Ken, Shara, Susi, Gary, Tom, Guilia, Michael, Paul, Rob, Crispi, Raj, Myles, Richard, Damian, Chris, Di, Adrian, Jim, Jenny and Luis who helped out on the day to show the public what PBS is all about.

Music lovers get great rare releases at PBS’ CD sale - by donation


Meanwhile, back in the music library the dedicated volunteers are chipping away at the mammoth task of cataloguing the music department.  Thanks to everyone who’s helped out at PBS, not only with that job, but with all PBS volunteer roles. And it all still continues because at PBS, opportunities are abound. Read below to find out more.  

                                               
Cup Day Kaos – Event volunteering
Cup Day Kaos will be held Tuesday November 1st on Melbourne Cup Day at the Retreat in Brunswick. It’s a gig, and an Outside Broadcast and it's the alternative to what everyone else is doing. Want to volunteer to run the door this day? We've got 2 shifts: 1:45-3:45pm and 3:30-6:30pm. Want to volunteer to help out? It’ll be fun, and there’ll be fringe benefits. Plus you’ll be helping out. Join the library catalogue team **many opportunities**
The Library catalogue is up and functioning, thanks to the great work of Kathryn Jones, Sasha, Sam and the rest of the team. But we still need more help to catalogue our vast collection of music.  It will be a fantastic asset to the station once complete.  Would you like to help out?  If the answer is yes, email hr[at]pbsfm.org.au to apply.

The PBS reception role is great for a people person. If you like helping out and directing people at PBS, and can attend consistently then maybe this is the role for you.
